Acupuncture and reflexology can treat all the above and would be advised for more serious complaints (MS, stroke, angina etc), as these therapies concentrate more on the internal, energetic imbalances of the body.

Aromatherapy is very effective in treating most of the above ailment, external and internal.

Body massage treats musculoskeletal and neurological conditions and many more of the above complaints and promotes well-being.

Acupuncture – Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

TMC originated in China and is over 4000 years old.  It is used throughout the world and provides 40% of the healthcare in China today.

The central principle of TMC is to harmonise the Yin and Yan energies of the body so that they are in complete balance.  These Yin and Yang energies are the vital energy (Qi) that flow throughout the body in a network of channels know as meridians.  Each meridian connects to the skin and the internal organs.  If this smooth flow of energy becomes disrupted, either by becoming stagnant or deficient, then disease will occur.

TCM uses acupuncture to restore this natural balance of the Qi by inserting very fine needles into acupuncture points on the meridians.  Manipulation of these points helps to either tonify or reduce the energies.

Before treatment, a thorough consultation is carried out, taking all aspects of the patient’s life into consideration and using various diagnostic skills.

Symptoms provide clues as to what has happened to the energy, and diagnosis gathers the pieces of information to form a picture (like a jigsaw). A treatment prescription will then be devised which will be tailored specifically to the patient.

The treatment aims to not only treat the symptoms of any ailment, but also to treat the root cause/s.

Body Massage

Body massage aids in-

  • Relaxation of the mind and body
  • Pain relief and joint mobility
  • Blood/lymph circulation and toxin removal
  • Releasing muscular tension/fibrous adhesions and stagnant energy
  • Nourishing the skin, muscles and sinews

Indian Head Massage

This extremely relaxing massage is performed on the upper back, arms, neck, scalp and face and is particularly good for stress relief, head tension, sinus congestion, headache/migraine, insomnia, poor concentration, eye strain, tinnitus and hair loss.

Aromatherapy

This is a very slow, head to toe relaxing and luxurious massage, using essential oils on the skin.  Essential oils are made from various parts of plants (such as the flower, bark and stem).  They contain natural chemical components that are effective on all kinds of ailments.  They are particularly good for the mental and emotional well-being, as well as the physical. Includes the legs, back, arms, chest, face and scalp.

Foot / Hand Reflexology

This ancient healing therapy is performed on either the feet or hands and stimulates the nerve endings and energy pathways.  The foot/hand is quite like a map of the body in that there are reflex points that correspond to the organs, glands and structures of the body.  By stimulating these reflex points, it enables the body to bring itself back to a homeostatic balance.  It relieves stress and induces deep relaxation.  It improves the circulation and aids toxin removal and can be used to treat ailments of all the body systems.

Chakra Massage (cleansing)

Using energy and spiritual healing, the Chakra massage is used for assessing which chakras are out of balance and correcting them using massage and specific crystals.  The client will be facedown on the couch where a mixture of Reiki massage, crystals and essential oils are used. The treatment is ended with the use of cleansing sound therapy.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

This is a very firm and brisk massage consisting of techniques designed to aid toxin/waste removal from the body via the lymph glands. It is very beneficial for poor circulation and Oedema. It is great for a post exercise massage and it can also reduce Cellulite as part of a regular exercise/massage routine.
