March 2024

We have some exciting news!

2024 is going to be a year of change here at the Elysium, starting off with our 2 main treatment rooms being remodelled in May. The beauty side will close the week commencing 20th May and reopen Tuesday 28th May.  We will be doing extra shifts before this date to accommodate people as much as we can.

Also on May 20th our Lisa will be having much needed surgery carried out and will be taking two weeks off to recuperate, again will be doing extra shifts the week commencing 13th May but will be returning back to work Tuesday 4th June.

We have made a decision to look at all products we are using across the whole business to be as clean and organic as possible, we will be introducing lots of new products and treatments in the coming months but for now our Hairdressers are the first to make this change by introducing the colour brand O&M.

  • O&M products are never tested on animals, and are ammonia, sulphate-free, paraben-free, triclosan-free, phthalate-free, sodium chloride-free, MIT, and propylene glycol-free.
  • O&M was developed out of a need for safe, non-toxic and effective professional hair products, the vision is to bring this Australian-born natural, luxury haircare and styling range that is safe, effective and beautiful to use.

As Vicky and Abby incorporate this change, prices will increase from April 1st new prices can be found on the website soon.

In other news our Macy has now finished her ‘in-salon training’. Coming straight from college is always a huge learning curve and Macy has thrown herself into giving the best treatments to her clients, you only need to read the reviews to see how much she has grown in this last year.  With that said Macy’s treatment will no longer be charged at junior prices and will be in-line with the other therapists from April 1st.

Christmas 2023

Where has this year gone… it’s Christmas in 7 weeks! As always we have a couple of things we would like to share with you, its just a reminder of some of our terms and conditions which are generally helpful to you and us, so please give this a read.

As you can imagine Christmas is the busiest time of year for our business with no room for error as the diaries are booked up solid. With clients booking their Christmas appointments already, we ask you to please make sure you have booked in for the right thing, if you have booked in for a gel-polish application but actually wanted nail extensions there is a time difference on these appointments and would mean we could only have the time to do the gel application.  There are explanations of each service when you book online and we have done a number of posts to explain the difference between them. We don’t want you to be disappointed, so please double check.

You may also want a little nail art, if this is a simple design there will be no charge however if its more elaborate send us a picture on social media so we can see how long this would take/and if the design is achievable and charge accordingly (there is an ‘add nail art’ option online usually around £5 extra).

It’s a busy time of year and can often see clients double booking themselves and having to rearrange or cancel at the last min, please refer to our cancellation policy and give more than 24 hours notice to cancel if you need to. You get a reminder 48 hours before your appointment from our system for the day/time and what treatments you have booked in for. If you no longer need everything you have booked in for please let us know 24 hours before so we can free up this for another client.

Everywhere gets crazy during Christmas week and roads can be mayhem, please give yourself enough time to get to your appointment as arriving late could mean we would have to cut down your appointment, or worst case cancel your appointment and you would still unfortunately be charged.

If your treatment requires a patch test, you must book in to have this done at least 24 hours beforehand. If you arrive to the appointment and you haven’t had one we won’t be able to do your treatment. People don’t realise that this is a necessary requirement for insurance purposes. We understand this is a pain, it is for us too, but it’s a must.

Please save the door code to your phone under Elysium, but please only use this code if you have an appointment, please don’t use it to pop in to buy a voucher as no one will be available to do this for you.  To purchase a voucher you can simply go online – all you require is the email address of the recipient. Or if you prefer a hard-copy please message us on social media and we will arrange for a time for you to pop in. Please also be aware that all vouchers purchased will get 6 months from December 25th – even if you purchase them now – we will do this manually on the system until June 25th 2024).

If you unfortunately don’t get your Christmas appointment booked, please remember to always check ‘last min availability’ a great feature of our online system, as soon as a cancellation or reservation has been moved, which happens all the time, the space will appear straight away so keep your eyes peeled, we will also post availability on our socials.

Our opening times are normal with Christmas Eve falling on Saturday.  We will reopen after Christmas on the Thursday 29th until Saturday 30th Closed New Year’s Eve, reopening with normal hours from Wednesday 4th Jan.  


September/October news

Well she’s done it! Our Rebecca has finally given birth to a beauty… Reggie Alexander Smedley arrived Thursday 7th Sept weighing in at 71b 14oz…… and he’s got his big brother Henry to look after him!

Rebecca will hopefully be back at Christmas time but just now she needs some rest to look after her boys ….. I’m not sure rest is what she’ll get.

In other news….. We have a new member of staff joining our team here at the Elysium Jen Pollitt.

Jen is a qualified lash and Brow technician and experienced in applying Russian hybrid and classic lashes,  LVL lash lifts and tints, and specialise in Brow Lamination wax and tints.

Jen is also a qualified level 3 nail technician in acrylic, Biab and nail art.

Jen, will be starting with us on Tuesday 3rd October and her working days for now will be Tuesdays and Thursdays.  You will be able to go online and book an appointment.  Please remember if you are booking in for lash or brow treatments that require a glue or tint test this must be done at least 24 hours before your appointment please note even if you have had your tint and glue test done somewhere else they might not use the same products and for insurance purposes we would need to test again.

Jen  will come in one evening to patch test anyone that requires one and do a quick consultation if required, details of this will be on our social media please keep a look out for this.


July News 2023

As I’m sure you’re all aware our Rebecca’s bump is cooking nicely but it is also causing a few more aches and pains than she would like.  Full body massages I’m afraid won’t be carried out by Rebecca from now as she really is struggling.

We have a new team member joining us this month.  Macy Thornton has just completed her level 2 and 3 with distinction in beauty therapy and is ready to start her salon career.   Macy will be taking on all massages with immediate effect, you will be able to see online what massages can be booked, I can personally vouch that you won’t be disappointed!

Whilst Macy is fully qualified in all of the treatments she offers, some treatments may take a little longer while she gains her experience, we will have a junior price for those treatments along with a fantastic package for you to take advantage of, all of which are online to book.

Macy will be shadowing Rebecca in July ready to take on clients when Rebecca goes on maternity leave at the end of the month.  In the time Rebecca is off some treatments will temporarily be unavailable to book until her return to work which will hopefully be the end of the year. Online booking is real time so you will only be able to see treatments that can be booked at any given time.

In other news the new ‘door locking system’ has had a few teething issues whilst clients get used to it, thankfully it appears to be calming down now, remember that the code you have been given shouldn’t change unless we have a security breech which would be unusual, the door key pad only works when the salon is open when the salon is closed its separately locked.

There has been a couple of people wanting to purchase a gift card and have found doing it online a little confusing, all you need is the recipient’s email address and follow the steps by clicking on the ‘mini site’ on the home page or click the diary icon bottom right hand corner of the screen.  If you don’t want to do this online please remember you can message us on Facebook or leave us a message on our answerphone and someone will get back to you to pay over the phone and organise how the voucher can be picked up or sent out.

May News 2023

On the 29th May we will be fitting a new locking system to the front door.

Eight months ago (after months of you asking us) we finally upgraded our management system so that clients could book their appointments online, you can see the availability book the slot required, all at a time that suits you, manage your appointments and purchase gift cards. This has been the single best decision we have made; you have told us how much you love it!

After lockdown we no longer had a receptionist do deal with people popping into the salon to make appointments, purchase gift cards etc. Our staff are all self-employed and busy with their clients in booked appointments, and simply don’t have time to deal with the reception. So, we have made the decision to no longer be a ‘walk in salon’ you can do everything online as mentioned but if you don’t wish to use the online portal you can call us or message us as you would always do and someone will get back to you.

The best / quickest way to change appointments, cancel reschedule etc is absolutely online when you have done it once you will love it. If you really don’t want to use our website then the next best way to communicate with us is by Facebook messenger (therapists see this in-between appointments) if you don’t want to purchase a gift card online and prefer a hard copy simply message us and we will discuss when this could be picked up from us or sent out to you. If you are not on Facebook simply leave us a message on our answerphone and someone will get back to you.

Please do refrain from emailing us as we do unfortunately miss these due to the amount of spam received.
The new locking system will be working from 29th May, however we would please ask that you follow the new system from now, it really would help us a lot.

On the 29th May the new locking system will have a passcode pad and a ring doorbell, the instruction will be on the door and are as follows:-

Is for clients who have an appointment. Please use the pass code given to you upon making the appointment it will be on both your email and text (this pass code will change periodically so make sure you check this each time). Come in and be seated, your therapist / hairdresser will be with you shortly.

Ring door bell

Is for Deliveries and Post only please do not press this for anything salon related.

Please follow the instructions above and refrain from knocking on the door as therapists / hairdressers will be in treatment.

We hope you understand why we have taken the decision to do this, for the reasons above and also from a safety point of view. The salon can be open late on the evenings and therapists may find themselves working alone, unfortunately in this day and age we don’t think its safe to do so!

In other May news we are still on the hunt for a fully qualified beauty therapist to join our team, we have had lots of interest in the position but due to experience we just haven’t found the right person. As advertised, the person is to be experienced and ready to take on our clients from the get go, however, training will be given for our more specialist treatments.

This will be our last blog of 2022…. And what a year it’s been, with so many changes and improvements within our business and 2023 will be no different….

Skincare Bootcamps

Launching in Jan ’23 will be our Skin ‘Bootcamps’ a tremendous amount of effort has been put into developing an 11 – 12 week course of in-house facials and homecare to give your skin what it needs to look fabulous by spring/summer, if you have any skin concerns, or maybe you’re a 2023 Bride or you simply want to get your skin in its best shape then our ‘Bootcamp’ is for you.

Because of the current climate we understand that making an investment could be tricky so we have come up with a payment plan consisting of a weekly standing order depending on which package you choose.  If this is something of interest to you check out the payment options now and maybe ask Santa for Vouchers to get you started off. Our in-house aesthetic professional Claire is holding the last clinic of the year on December 1st, this is already a very busy clinic, if you wish to book an appointment, please message Claire direct, click here for her details.

Christmas appointments are filling up fast especially with our online booking service, we please ask when booking your appointments that you don’t double book yourself, as always, we don’t want to charge anyone who has to cancel at the last minute but in line with our cancelation policy I’m afraid we will, please refer to this when booking.

We understand that you may want a little nail art at Christmas, however so we don’t run over, and you are not disappointed please book extra time on your appointment (add nail art when booking online or mention when booking in person) There will be a small charge for this depending on time (therapist’s discretion) The girls have been practicing designs for you to choose from.

Another feature to our new system allows you to review us, we have just set this live.  This means that you will get an email 24 hours after your appointment asking for you to review your treatment.  This will send out after every appointment, as clients do enjoy multiple treatments and it’s great to hear your feedback.  There is an option to keep anonymous if you wish to, you of course don’t have to do this, but we would appreciate it if you would, there’s been so many changes and improvements we really are keen to know what you think, we also want to continually improve.

In other News Our Laura has started her maternity early as she really was starting to struggle, her baby is due January, we will of course keep you all updated. If you have an appointment booked with Laura we will be contacting you to rearrange this in the next few days.

Our fab hairdresser Abby is going to be moonlighting into the beauty side, turns out she’s a natural and has already completed her gel polish training. In January she will start her beauty training and will be advertising for models for each component of the training….. watch this space.

Christmas gift ideas

If you’re struggling for inspiration, we have so much choice this year including our amazing new packages, and of course as mentioned above a voucher towards someone’s skincare bootcamp journey (they will thank you). Our online vouchers unfortunately don’t specify treatments they are for a value only but you can write a message to say what treatment you have selected. All you need to buy someone a gift voucher online is their email address and the system will align this when the client uses the voucher.  So you don’t spoil the surprise you can set the date you would like the voucher to be sent, the expiry date will also start from the date sent.

From Massages to Facials or Specific Packages with both. Money to go towards the new skincare bootcamp or towards a beautiful set of Brows, the list is endless but if you really are unsure simply put an amount on there so your chosen recipient can choose from the list for themselves.

You can of course pop in the salon to purchase a voucher so you have something to give or wrap up for Christmas.

Christmas time usually see’s us doing an amazing Raffle so this year we thought we would run a competition.  We want everyone to know about Million and especially the bootcamps that we are launching in January, and we simply ask you to share to your friends.

November 2022

And just like that we are in November! A whole month of online booking and the feedback has been amazing.  There’s been a couple of issues so we have written a ‘how to book online’  just to make this process a little easier click here to find out more.

2022 has been a year of planning and upgrading what we do.  We made the decision to come away from Elemis a brand we have stocked and used for 10 years.  The reason being we wanted to provide a more targeted results driven Skin Clinic to really help people with skin conditions on a different level.  That’s why we have introduced Million Dollar Facial and the award winning Dermalux. Together these two power houses really can help with all your skin concerns/conditions , such as  Acne, acne scarring, pigmentation, psoriasis, Eczema, menopausal skin, general skin health, sensitive skin, and anti-aging. In the last couple of weeks we have launched Million Dollar retail to back up all our in salon facials, with an amazing SPF brand which is essential to use to protect your skin all year round,we love it and we know you will to.

In the New Year we will be launching our skin ‘BOOTCAMP’s where a course of prescribed facials/treatments will go hand in hand with retail products to use at home to dramatically improve your skin. The winter months are the perfect time to invest in your skin. Ask your in house Platinum technician to discuss which Bootcamp would suit your skin, or area of concern.

We know we have some die hard fans of the ‘Pamper, massage facials’ these are a firm favourites for relaxation or gifts at Christmas and special occasions, so we have launched our new packages which are a mixture of pamper facials and our amazing body massages.  These really do make a great gift and now you can purchase a gift card online from the comfort of your own home, making buying a gift for someone that bit easier (even better if you have forgot till the last minute)!!

In addition to our skin clinic we are also very excited to have added some holistic/complementary therapies to our treatment list. With the fast paced environment we now live in we think its so important to give yourself some self care to relax, unwind  and release every day stresses. October Information

It’s happening – Online booking is going live OCTOBER 1st

The new system has been live for a few week’s, we have had a few issues but mainly due to not having emails for clients on the new system or clients not being transferred over from the old system….. The joys of technology!

If you have given your email to us in the last few weeks go ahead and start using online booking, if you are an existing customer and haven’t received an email from us or made an appointment in the last few weeks simply send your name and email address to with ‘update email’ in the address bar.  If you are new to the Elysium or haven’t been for some time go ahead and start using online booking.

What you will have noticed is that the reminder text message comes 48 hours before your appointment instead of 24 hours, this is to give you more time to change, cancel, or reschedule without incurring any charges.  However you no longer confirm your appointment by replying ‘C’, it is simply a reminder text that explains you need to confirm by email. If you didn’t or haven’t received an email it means we don’t have your email address on our system or it’s an old one.  Please send us an email or message us on messenger with your email address so we can update it before your appointment.

So here is what you can expect:

  • Book your appointments online 24 / 7.  If you can’t see a treatment online you would like to book from the website this will mean either there is no availability, temporarily unavailable, or the treatment selected cannot be booked without consultation, in this instance please do message us or call us on the details provided to discuss in more detail.
  • Your own personal Log in (client log in) where you can completely manage your appointments, cancel, move or reschedule them. Check for last min availability.
  • Purchase gift cards – sent out electronically as a gift or view and redeem your gift cards purchased for you
  • We have made the decision not to take online deposits for now, however you will need to input your card details to use online booking. The system will only use these details if the cancellation policy has been activated.  Our cancellation policy hasn’t changed: 24 hours’ notice must be given to change, reschedule, or cancel an appointment, your card will be charged 50% of the total appointment value.  100% will be charged if less than 12 hours’ notice is given or you simply don’t turn up.  If you arrive late and a treatment cannot be carried out a charge will also be incurred. Please note we do not want to charge anyone, but please understand that our therapists, hairdressers, and professionals are all self-employed, if you miss an appointment and we cannot re-fill it, it’s the individual’s earnings that are affected; we really hope you understand this. There are of course always emergencies and exceptional circumstances that we will deal with on an individual basis.
  • As with anything technological we do expect a few issues, please bear with us while we all get used to it.  It’s a fantastic system, the small problems we have had have all been user error! If you really don’t want to use online booking you don’t have to, you can continue to call, use messenger or make your repeat appointments in salon. We have made the change to go fully automated as we know people were getting frustrated at the time it took to get booked in, the majority of people are busy and want an instant appointment.

September 2022

This month we will see a change to our in-house management system.  The change will benefit everyone by making all documentation fully automated and transparent.  As you can imagine this will be quite a task and unfortunately, we will need everyone to fill out a salon consultation form, you will only need to do this once.

The new system will be set up to send out various consultation forms depending on what treatments you book.  With the introduction of our skin clinic and the various new treatments we now offer, for insurance purposes we must have the correct paperwork which is one of the reasons we have made the decision to move to a better provider.

We also want to become more consultative as regards skincare.  We will have an online skincare questionnaire that you can fill out at home and send to us so we have the time to fully analyse your skincare wants and needs and recommend a course of in salon-treatments and homecare.

As with any in-house treatments, one facial is never going to fix problematic skin and in most cases a number of treatments will be needed. We will also be able to share our very own case studies and success stories, all we ask is that you ‘Trust the process’.

We need to do this huge task in stages so on Sunday/ Monday 4th and 5th September we will start to move our clients over to the new system if you have an appointment booked this will generate a new consultation form, you will only need to do this once.  Depending on the treatment you are booked in for this may generate another consultation form.  We understand form filling can be laborious but we must have the correct paperwork for insurance purposes, this protects everyone.

Once we have successfully moved over to the new system we can then move to the next stage where you will be able to book your appointments online, manage your appointments change, move or cancel, book special offers, purchase gift vouchers and more.

Please be patient we are hoping for a very smooth transition, however moving 15 years of business from one system to another is surly going to cause some issues please let us know if you think there’s a fault so we can rectify this straight away.


August 2022 News and Offers

It’s holiday time! Our Lisa’s finally having a break (her first holiday in 7 years and she literally cannot wait) Lisa will be on holiday from the 25th of August  to the 5th of September.

In addition our Rebecca is tying the knot with hubby Matt in beautiful Ibiza. Rebecca will be away from 1st to the 21st of September.

Lisa is fully booked until she goes on the 25th of August, Rebecca has very few appointments left before she finishes up at the end of the month.
